Trouble is a Friend by Lenka

'Trouble is a Friend' by Lenka has been rolled in my head since yesterday night. I love this song very much since the first time i listened from Mix FM. I have no idea with the song's name at that time until i found it out yesterday night. Huhu so happy :P I love the chorus part:

** He's there in the dark, he's there in my heart
He waits in the wings, he's gotta play a part
Trouble is a friend, yeah trouble is a friend of mine, Oh Oh

So don't be alarmed if he takes you by the arm
I won't let him win, but i'm a sucker for his charm
Trouble is a friend, yeah trouble is a friend of mine, Oh Oh! **

I have introduced this song to my labmates today and even played this song in lab. I guessed the song now rolling in Ms Lai's head also hie hie hie... Let's share this song with the lyrics provided! Nice~

Condemnation

I just listened to a story that made me super angry. I have been told by my sister about a case that happened between my family and Malaysia Police! I won't tell the whole story. The only thing i wanted to condemn is can a police menace the citizen with their power? 'mahkamah...polis...penjara' are the words they always use to threaten us! We citizen pay them to threaten us? What the hell! Even i wasn't there at that time but i was very very mad after listened the story from my sister. Luckily my sister is an educated person and brave to fight them back, if no? They thought we orang kampung do not know the law? Dare to say people kurang ajar padahal they are the most kurang ajar. Dare to say want to berbaik-baik pada bulan Ramadhan infact showed out their real 'insan mulia'? Some more dare to threaten my sister that he will recognize her face. Wah really sound like gangster...Is that the attitute they suppose to have? Hey, orang kampung is no longer ULU, we are educated and know the law! Don't ever think to threaten us! We do not scare of you!

Bangkok Trip 2009

I have had a great and incredible 4 days 3 nights Bangkok trip on last week from 13th to 16 August. Me and Simon have considered for a long time either to go Bangkok for a crazy shopping or Bali Island for a real relaxing vacation. Finally we came to a decision to GO Bangkok! This trip consist of me, Mr Simon, Pei Ting sa po and Mr Peter. Here are our enjoyable photos! Let me bring u around the Bangkok city hehe...Sawaadeekap! :P

13 August 2009

Me and Simon on the way going to Terminal LCC by taxi around 7.20 am

We reached Terminal LCC earlier than the expected time so we have had a long breakfast at Old Town White Coffee while waiting for another couple to come.

Huhu...Bangkok, we are coming!

The scenes look out from the aeroplane

After about 2 hours flight, we reached Suvarnabhumi airport. For safety purpose, we stil wearing the mask. Lets have a nice shot with a little luggage first to compare to the time we will bring back later.

Tips:
Remember to take a FREE map of Bangkok city at the airport so you can easily find the destination you want to go. Because i checked the price of Bangkok map at Malaysia's book store, it cost about RM30-RM50. It is so expensive so why should we spend that money if we can get a free one from Suvarnabhumi airport?

Heading to our luxury 4-stars hotel --> A-One Bangkok Hotel

While waiting for the check in procedure, i have snapped some photos of the reception counter, hotel lobby and cyber cafe. The last photo was the cold lemon grass drinks and cold towels served to us! Our first impression--> Yeah! We found a right hotel!

Woo..cool~ Two sa po wipe thier hands and face with the cold towel

Angles of the superior room that we lived in

We hungry crazily already after checked in at hotel and is time for hunting food! Our first lunch at Bangkok was at a stall nearby A-One Hotel. I do not know what's the kueh tiaw soup called but it was nice to eat added with the chily! Hot and spicy is my favourite~ hiehie...1 bowl kueh tiaw soup cost 250Baht (~RM 2.50) Well, consequence of added too much chili to the bowl of my kueh tiaw soup and in addition to the hot weather, i was sweating non-stoply. Therefore, eat ice kacang was the greatest suggestion! 1 bowl ice kacang cost 200 Baht (~RM2).
After a simple lunch and shower, we departed to the Central World Plaza by hotel's van! I like A-One hotel's service because they will have a van service at certain time to send their hotel customer to certain places that had been listed down. Coincident we planned to go that place on that time so saved the taxi fee! :P
At the Central World Plaza. There was an exhibiton there so i have snapped a photo of a pretty woody ornament (on the right top photo). Of course we would not miss any chance to hunt for the food! We had a try of the mix fruit (strawberry+grape) ice blended at Ice Monster. We like the ice blended because it was soft and added with condensed milk but we don't like the strawberries and grapes because it was sour~ This cup of mix fruit ice blended cost abt 890 Baht (~RM8.90)

After that, we went to Siam Paragon (another famous shopping mall) by walking because it is nearby the Cental World Plaza.

Taking photos at the Siam Paragon with the Siam Ocean World's patung and McD uncle :)

Also a walking distance to MBK Center. This plaza totally looks like Sungai Wang Plaza. The first place we started to shop because the things were cheap and negotiable!

We had a try on that food eventhough we do not know what was that but it was quite nice!

We shopped until evening time then took taxi to the next destination --> famous Suan Lum Night Bazaar!
We settled our first dinner at a big food court at Suam Lum Night Bazaar. There has a singing performance on the stage. Is a very good place to hunt for food because got a variety of foods!
The foods here is pay by coupon so have to buy the coupon at the coupon counter first before proceed with ordering food.

Our dinner! Got Tomyam Kung, fried small crabs and etc..(not really sure about the food names) Yummy~ The Tomyam Kung at Thailand is very different than Malaysia's tomyam. The tomyam there is very very nice! Really have to try the thailand tomyam if you have a chance.

Besides, i like the coconut ice blended (showed in this photo),was nice! We spent around 400 Baht (~RM40) for this dinner!

After the dinner, we went shopping at the night bazaar. I have bought some souveniers there! 2-3 hours later, we went back to the hotel and rest! That was our first day at Bangkok!

14 August 2009
Our breakfast buffet at the hotel. The foods were not bad. I like the pork bacon and congee with minced chicken.

Pei Ting's sandwich! Apply the chili sos on the bread then added with half fried egg, ham and bacon :P
Guess what drink were we cheering for?
Is vitamin C drink! haha...everyday drink 1 packet of 1000mg vitamin C to boost our immune system. Is the product from Hovid Pharmacy!

Snapped some photos of the hotel's restaurant, bar and lobby's comfortable sofa while waiting the others went for toilet before depart to the Grand Palace.

The Royal Chapel of the Emerald Buddha

Tips:
1. Visitors should dress neatly in all religious shrines. Never go topless, or in shorts, hot pants or other unsuitable attire.
2. Never climb onto any Buddha image to take a photograph or do anything which might indicate a lack of respect to Buddha.
3. Do not wear shoes when entering any chapel.
Nice view!

This magnificient royal compound is regular venue for important religious and royal ceremonies.
Open daily from 8.30am. to 3.30pm.

Snapped at a garden.

The weather was very hot and the Grand Palace compound was very big so we only spent few hours at there. After that, we took a boat to round along the Chao Phraya river. We went to Wat Arun, Thonburi floating market and Wat Pho by boat. Nice~

Some views along Chao Phraya river including the Grand Palace, Wat Arun and Thonburi floating market

Our photos on the boat

Wat Pho also known as the temple of the Reclining Buddha. Is a big Reclining Buddha statue.

The process of Peter putting a coin into each jar and make a wish on that. Total up got hundred over jars arranged in a long row.

After that, we went to Vimanmek Mansion. It was built in 1901 as royal residence of King Rama IV. It is world's largest golden teak building and now is a museum housing of the king's memorabilia. I like this place because will have a guide to leads and explains us to every rooms and halls. Cannot bring in bag, camera and cellphone but we will have the chance to take the photo at the front garden after visited.

Photos took at the front garden of Vimanmek Mansion

Is time for lunch! So we went to the famous Khao San Road.

Khao San Road is a world-renowned backpackers haven which offers an exciting choice of economical guest houses, restaurants and bars.

We ended up our late lunch at 7-eleven with pork burger and honey green tea! Contented with the pork burger~ Yum yum~

We spent an hour time at Khao San Road then went back rest and shower at hotel before heading to the next destination--> China Town for dinner!

Finally we abled to find a place where can communicate easily with the people. Is China Town! A street full with seafood and chinese foods. We settled our dinner at a simple stall then went shopping for awhile.

After that, we were heading for a Thai girl show by Tuk-tuk. I think the tuk-tuk driver got the commission for sending people for the show thats why the tuk-tuk fee only cost 20 Baht (~RM2) while the enterence fee for the show is 500 Baht (~RM50) per person.

We went back to hotel by taxi after the show. We loitered at the nearby 7-eleven (our favourite place) to buy supper then took some photos outside our hotel. The left bottom photo is the light for calling the taxi which will be switched on by the bell boy of our hotel when we want to call for a taxi and we just have to sit down and wait at the lobby. How nice is the service! :) And we will get a taxi in a short while because taxi is everywhere in Bangkok. Very convenient.

Supper time at the lobby and listened to the nice song sang by a pianonist

Live performance at our hotel bar from 8-11pm

Photo with a cute and nice bell boy of our hotel before getting back to our room. hehe~

A-One Hotel swimming pool

15 August 2009
Jalan-jalan at the swimming pool side after breakfast

Taking some photos in lobby before heading to Chatuchak market (also known as JJ market) by hotel van

Chatuchak probably is the world's largest open-air, weekend flea market. A must for bargain-hunters looking for almost everything under the sun.

We spent the whole afternoon at Chatuchak market. The weather was so hot and we bought a lot of things there. So can you imagine how tiring we were carrying so many things under the sun? The only thing we can do was keep on drinking the cold drinks to cool down.

Well, this market is very big so we didn't finish shop. The market divided into few corners which are food & drink, book, antique & collectibles, handicraft, clothing & accessories, pet & accessories, used clothing, plant & gardening tools, furniture, art & gallery, ceramic, gift & souvenier, massage & spa and others. If i was given 1 more day to stay at Bangkok, i think i will continue shopping at here because i haven't finished shop and there was really a lot of things to open eyes and buy. The most important is the things are cheap!

Tips:
Remember to take the Chatuchak market map from the information counter before u start shopping so you can easily find your situated location.

We went back hotel for shower and rest after the whole afternoon shopping at Chatuchak market. At night we went to Patpong Night Bazaar for dinner.

We ate dinner at this guy's stall. Don't know why everybody thought Peter is a Thailandnist and speak Thailand language to him. This guy as well...haha~ poor Peter who always needs to reply them 'mai kao zai' (i don't understand in Thailand language)

For sure we won't miss the chance to go massage when come to Tahiland. Thai massage (full body) for 1 hour only cost 250 Baht (~RM25) per person. Shiok! But i got laugh out loud because of the itchyness hehe~The rest laughed at me even my massagist also. But was very itchy la especially when massage my foot and thigh. I have tried my best not to laugh out loud even hold the towel and bit the towel tighly but i still couldn't stand it!

Photos with our massagist. Sarcastic smile of Peter because of not willing to take the photo with his massagist.

An elephant at Patpong Night Bazaar. Pay for feeding the elephant.

Advises:
1. Do not go for any show offered at Patpong Night Market because you will be cheated and will be forced to pay for an expensive drinks bill. The bill can up to 3900 Baht (~RM390) and you will be blocked by a few big size guys if you don't want to pay the bill before exit.
2. The things at Patpong Night Bazaar are more expensive because their target are Mat Salleh and actually there are nothing much there.
3. The only advisable place to go at Patpong is massage.
4. Suan Lum Night Bazaar is more worth to go than Patpong Night Bazaar.

16 August 2009

The morning before flying back to Malaysia. Taking some photos in room before check out. My foot and Simon's foot :P

Actually me and Simon planned to go for another massage nearby our hotel on that morning but the shop will only open at 2pm so finally end up swimming at our hotel's swimming pool.

Taking lunch at Fortune XXX restaurant at Suvarnabhumi airport

Suvarnabhumi airport is a new international airport and is very big. The distance from the duty free shops to the boarding section is very far so we were late for the boarding. We ran there! We were the four last person who got in to the plane before the plane started to fly in 10 minutes. Luckily didn't miss the flight.

Advises:
Better check in at airport earlier because sure will have a lot of people check in and will takes a long time in dropping in luggages because everybody sure will go back with more than 1 luggage. I even saw some people bought a big Bravia brand LCD TV. Sometimes it will happen an argument between the passenger with the airport check in staff because of not willing to pay for the exceeded luggage fee so that will cause a long time also.

The seat was fixed so me and Simon were not sitting together. He sat behind me.

Fruitful from our trip!:P
End of Bangkok trip :(
